Getting Out

248/365

Today has been long, but excellent. I went to breakfast, had two classes, sat in the lounge after climbing ten flights of stairs (never again! because the second elevator is fixed now!), had lunch, did poorly on a test I thought I'd do well on, relaxed a little, went to my PCM (Practical Christian Ministry aka served food at a homeless shelter), joined the bro/sis event to watch The Sandlot in Sweeting (a building on campus), then a group of us from the bro/sis went out!

We walked to Grant Park, a little through Millennium (they were closing once we finally got there), ate Subway, then took the el back. It was so nice to step off the brown line, walk a block, and be on campus. On our way to the park we passed right by where some filming was going on. When we asked they said it was for Chicago P.D., so that was kinda cool. But now it's getting quiet outside my window, so I guess everyone in the plaza is going to bed. Good thing, too, because I should probably head that way, seeing as I have a decent amount of homework I should get ahead on tomorrow.

Celebrations

247/365

A few reasons to celebrate tonight:
a. 300 blog posts! woohoo!
b. 47.5/50 on my first Old Testament quiz!
c. finished (most) of my Exodus summary!

The only reason to not celebrate? Our intramural ultimate frisbee team got demolished tonight by the married & graduate student team. They are intense! We had fun, though, which is all that matters, right?

WIP Wednesday

Taking a lesson from my kindred spirit and adding my current book in here! I've made lots of progress on my shrug this last week, but still have a little more than halfway to go. I'm so pumped to see how it turns out! Reading wise, I haven't made much progress. It's a tad disappointing for a series I was looking forward to, but we'll see how it goes.

Cloudy Night

245/365

Tonight I attempted the intramural ultimate frisbee, studied the Old Testament walk-thru with friends, then stayed up way too late talking with one of those friends. Then I came to my room and saw these distinct clouds. Pretty cool, I think.

Labor Day Fun

244/365

Today was fantastic! I woke up and my friend and I walked to Chick-fil-A at 8, only to discover they weren't opening until 10:30. Very disappointing. So we walked back to campus and worked on our Old Testament papers in the lounge on our floor. Today there was brunch in the SDR (cafeteria), so I went around 10:30 and had cereal, then waited until 11:15 or so to eat lunch. I won't be wasting any of my meal plan, that is for sure.

After lunch a few of us from our floor walked to Salvation Army, and everything was 50% off! I didn't find a few things I was looking for, but I did get two skirts, one shirt, and riding boots, all for under $8! I'm so stoked. Then we headed back, put our new clothes in the wash to prevent spreading bed bugs, and I went up to ASC (Alumni Student Center, floor 2, a lounge area) to work on my OT paper some more. I took a break for dinner, then finished up the section I was working on right at 7:30! It will still have to be revised and I'll have to add a lot more, but I have the basic summary of Genesis down! It's due three weeks from today and I want to have it turned in the Friday before that, so hopefully I can make that happen!

Now I'm watching Joseph: King of Dreams, and Prince of Egypt is up next. I just ate some leftover pizza and now I'm crocheting. College is fun!
