Beginning of the End

343/365

In one week I will be done with this semester! This last week is so boring, which makes me think this is what some call "dead week". I'm done with one class, and only meet once more with my other classes. We have Friday off as a studying/reading day, then my two finals are Monday morning. This picture has no real significance, except for the fact that I go to bed too late and forget to take pictures.

Best Mail Day Ever

342/365

Today's mail had two epic packages! I got the yarn I ordered online a few weeks ago, and now I have a lot of knitting to do between now and Christmas.

The best package, however, was from my mommy! She sent it a week ago and it was supposed to arrive on Thursday for it to be a full 12 days between then and finals, but it didn't make it until today. Truly such a sweet gift. They're all cute little puns, which I think were put together by her and the little sister. I definitely cried a little bit when I opened it. My mother is so good at being purposeful about things, and in this instance it has me feeling very loved between now and the plane ride home!

Self Portrait (49/52)

Sunday always seem to fly by! I always hope to get several things done, but then I blink and it's time for bed. Sigh. I attempted homework in the library tonight, then came back with Marika. Just a little nighttime reading, then off to bed! Last week of classes!

Introvert Time

340/365

Tonight I had introvert time! I had that a lot over the past several years, and I haven't really felt the need for it while here. I worked during the day, however, which meant I had the evening free while all my friends were either working or at Candlelight Carols, a Moody thing. I had the option to go ice-skating with the bro/sis, but opted instead to steal some movies from Marika and work on my knitting. I'm nearly done with the hat a friend from home asked me to make! Claire, it should be in the mail soon!

Surprise Sorbet

(photos by Chloe!)
339/365

Today had some pretty memorable moments! I first joined a girl on my floor, Chloe, and her boyfriend to the Anti-Cruelty Society a few blocks down. It was so great! You only have to sign in before you can go hang out with cats and dogs! The best part, though, was that you can choose a dog for them to put a leash on, then go walk the dog into the courtyard! As soon as I saw Shiloh, I knew I had to cuddle her! It's only 12 days until I get to hold my beagle and it was great to hear the little growl that is characteristic of beagles!

After returning from there, I still had a few hours until my last PCM of the semester, but I was really dreading it. I checked my mailbox multiple times, because I'm expecting a package from my mom. She paid for two-day shipping, but the man who works down at the Campus Post Office (CPO) said it probably won't be here until Monday. So. Annoying. I was on the verge of tears at this point, mainly because I'm just ready to go home.

After PCM, I was eating dinner in Leslie and Marika's room when Leslie surprised her roommate with an outing. We took a little walk to the more "River North" area, and had some dessert at Eataly. That place is insane. Tons of Italian goods! I tried sorbet for the first time and, surprise, I really liked it! We finished off the evening by watching The Giver, which was not too bad. I definitely need to read that book again, though!
